St. John's Bell Ringers

What’s bell ringing all about?
Bell ringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps keep you fit…it also makes a glorious sound! Many consider ringing to be their contribution to church life. Ringers come from all walks of life and range in age from ten to those in their eighties. Why not give it a try?

Sunday Services: 10.30am and 6.30pm
Ringing for half an hour before services when numbers allow. Please check with Penelope (01202 765105) or Jill (0776 1374634).

Tuesday practice: 7.30 - 9pm
On 2nd Tuesdays, visiting ringers are particularly encouraged to attend designated 8 bell practices.

Point of interest
November 2006 marks the centenary of St John’s peal of 8 bells (tenor 16cwt).

Bellringing animations
www.cathedral.org/wrs/animation/animation.htm has some great animations of bells ringing!
